Kathmandu — Upcoming Nepali film मितज्यू is set for release on Jestha 8, with the makers promising a complete entertainment package blending social storytelling, culture and commercial appeal.

Director Anil Budha Magar says the film has been crafted by understanding modern audience expectations, where cinema is expected to balance artistic value with entertainment. Following the box-office success of घर ज्वाइँ last year, the director returns with another rural-themed drama.

One of the film’s biggest highlights is Teriya Magar, the celebrated dancer who gained popularity across Nepal and India through her extraordinary dance talent. However, the makers clarify that she is not appearing merely for a dance number — she plays one of the lead roles in the film.

Audiences will not only get to watch Teriya’s dance performances but also witness her acting abilities on the big screen for the first time. The released promotional materials have already hinted at her significant presence in the story.

The film also stars acclaimed actors Saugat Malla and Dayahang Rai in major roles, making their on-screen collaboration with Teriya another key attraction of the movie.

Alongside them, the cast includes Khadga Bahadur Pun Magar, Shishir Wangdel, Pushkar Gurung, Raj Thapa, Subarna Thapa, Anu Thapa and Smita Lamichhane.

Produced by Janak Gharti Magar, the film features editing by Lokesh Bajracharya and cinematography by Shishir Bishankhe.

Set against a rural Nepali backdrop, ‘Mitjyu’ explores friendship, culture, traditions and everyday village life. The production team believes the film’s emotional depth and cultural authenticity will strongly connect with audiences.
