‘Ek Muthi Badal’ Holds Private Screening, Former PM Sushila Karki Calls It “A Reflection of Society”

Kathmandu — A private screening of the upcoming Nepali film Ek Muthi Badal was held ahead of its nationwide release on Jestha 1. The event was attended by former Prime Minister Sushila Karki, Congress leader Sunil Kumar Thapa, Sangeeta Thapa, journalist Narayan Wagle, and director Aman Pratap Adhikari, among other notable personalities.

Speaking after the screening, former PM Karki praised Ek Muthi Badal as an artistic film that realistically portrays contemporary society. She noted that the movie effectively highlights middle-class family struggles, generational conflicts, and the widening gap between traditional values and modern lifestyles.

According to her, the film sensitively depicts the clash between older generations and Gen Z culture while also exploring economic inequality and parental sacrifices for their children’s future.

Congress leader Sunil Kumar Thapa described the film’s social message as deeply emotional, while director Aman Pratap Adhikari called it one of the finest Nepali films ever made and encouraged audiences to watch it.

Directed by debut filmmaker Sahara Sharma, the film stars Aanchal Sharma, Nisha Sharma, Usha Rajak, Bhima Mainali, Asmita Gautam, Shekhar Chapagain, Manish Niroula, Sahayog Adhikari, Gaurav Bista, and Aviralpratap Adhikari.

The movie is produced by Abhimanyu Dixit with Nikun Shrestha serving as executive producer. The production team also includes German producer Sarah Fazilat, Samipya Raj Timilsena, and Anup Poudel.

Produced under Gaunthali Entertainment and Man Production, the film will be distributed in Nepal by RR Films.
