Kathmandu — The sequel to the commercially successful Nepali film Maan Binako Dhan has officially been announced. Titled Maan Binako Dhan 2, the upcoming project has already entered pre-production.
Released last year, Man Binako Dhan performed strongly at the domestic box office, reportedly collecting around NPR 4 crore in gross earnings. Director Tank Budhathoki will return to helm the sequel, which will be the second presentation under Tank Budhathoki Production.
The screenplay and dialogues are being written by Shivam Adhikari, while the story and music will be handled by director Tank Budhathoki himself.
Meanwhile, actress Pooja Sharma has officially signed on for the lead role. The agreement between Sharma and the production team was finalized on Sunday. Filming is expected to begin from Bhadra later this year.
The production team has not yet revealed the rest of the cast. Director Tank Budhathoki stated that pre-production work is currently underway and additional actors will be finalized gradually.
Actress Pooja Sharma said she was excited to join the project, adding that the family-oriented storyline and creative team attracted her to the film.
The film will be produced by Bishnu Maya Mainali.
