Kathmandu — The official shooting of upcoming Nepali film Akshara, directed by debut filmmaker Binayraj Poudel, has officially begun in Kathmandu. The production team started filming on Monday after conducting a script worship ceremony at Guhyeshwari Temple a few days earlier.
According to the filmmakers, the shooting schedule has been planned for one month. Director Binayraj Poudel stated that extensive preparation, including screenplay development and actor workshops, was completed before going on the floor.
Produced under the banner of Kshit Babu Production House, Akshara stars Sushil Sitoula, Nancy Khadka, Sushil Pokharel, Pushkar Raut, Rista Adhikari, Anshu Maharjan, Geeta Adhikari, Birendra Kushwaha, and Srijana Adhikari in lead roles.
Child actors Ronak Khadka and Prisa Dhungana are also part of the film.
The film’s executive producer is Suraj Thapakaji, while Ugrasen Dhungana and Sugrasen Dhungana are producing the project. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Abhimanyu Nirabi. Lyrics are by Surendra Rana, with music composed by Karnaraj Giri.
Cinematography is being handled by Dipen Basnyat, choreography by Ramji Lamichhane, and action direction by Shankar Maharjan.
The film’s poster has been designed by Rakesh Dahal, while nationwide distribution will be managed by National Cine Group Nepalu through Dipak Dangal.
Before making his directorial debut with Akshara, Binayraj Poudel had worked as an assistant director in dozens of Nepali films.
