Kathmandu — Actress Nita Dhungana has unveiled the first look of her debut directorial film Parvati. The production team released two posters during a special event on Friday.

The posters have generated strong curiosity among audiences. In the first poster, Nita Dhungana appears in a schoolgirl uniform. With short hair, a black thread around her neck, and a blue pinafore, her “de-glam” look presents a distinctly different and challenging character.

Her innocent expression and subtle smile suggest that the character of “Parvati” is not an ordinary one, but rather a sensitive individual living in her own emotional world. This departure from her usual glamorous roles has further increased audience interest.

In the second poster, child artist Ashok Darji is seen carrying Nita Dhungana on his back. This powerful visual symbol suggests a protective and supportive relationship between the characters.

Their simple smiles reflect a pure, selfless emotional bond. Nita pointing towards the sky symbolizes dreams and imagination.

The chalk-written words such as “love,” “family,” and “affection” in the background indicate that the film is rooted in a school and socially emotional setting.

Parvati is set to release on Bhadra 12 (Rakhsha Bandhan) of 2083 BS. The choice of the festival release date also suggests that the film will focus on emotional family relationships, particularly between siblings.

For Nita Dhungana, this film represents both a major risk and opportunity as she takes on directing as well as a leading role. She considers it her dream project.

Produced under Nita Dhungana Films, the film is produced by Harihar Adhikari. Cinematography is handled by Sudip Baral, while dialogues are written by Shivam Adhikari.

The film features Deepashree Niraula, Siru Bista, Radhika Kandel, Raj Pangeni Sharma, Rajendra Nepali, and Asha Paudel among others.

Saroj Adhikari serves as the creative director, while Shankar Pandey is handling production and executive production responsibilities. Editing is done by Sahil Khan.

Music is composed by Prashant Siwakoti, Babul Giri, Siddharth Sarkar Paudel, and Deepak Sharma, with songs featuring Yugraj Kafle and Hark Saud among others.

Choreography is by Ramji Lamichhane, assistant direction by Nabaraj Sharma, and background score by Alish Karki.

The film will be distributed by Rich Entertainment, Apple Entertainment, and F.D. Company, with OSR Digital as its digital partner.
