Stylish actor Salinman Baniya is all set to make his big-screen comeback with the upcoming film ‘University of Gundas’ (UOG). But this time, the biggest buzz surrounding the movie is his fresh on-screen pairing with a Japanese actress.
According to the production team, Japanese actress Mina Yasoda has officially been signed opposite Salinman in the film. Produced under the banner of Sanvi Entertainment, the movie promises a unique romantic chemistry rarely seen in recent Nepali cinema.
Mina, who has both Nepali and Japanese family roots — with a Nepali father and Japanese mother — is currently based in Japan. However, the makers have chosen to keep further details about her under wraps for now.
The film’s recently released first-look poster had already hinted that ‘University of Gundas’ would stand apart from typical Nepali films in terms of style and presentation. Adding more curiosity, the story of the film has been written by Salinman himself.
Directed by Suresh Neupane, the film will feature Salinman Baniya, Mina Yasoda and Salon Basnet in lead roles.
The makers have not yet revealed the full cast and crew lineup. The release date is also expected to be announced only after gauging audience response to the first look.
The technical crew includes Saurabh Lama as DOP, Mandip Gautam for screenplay, Roman Bajracharya for background score, Samrat Basnet as action director, Manoj Shrestha for VFX, Bande Prasad for editing and trailer, Mukesh Shah for sound design and Rajendra Moktan for color grading.
