The shooting of upcoming Nepali film ‘Maharajdhiraj’ has officially begun. After a formal launch ceremony held on Tuesday, the production team started filming from Srilanka Island in Sunsari district.
Director Parichhed Sen said the first phase of shooting will continue at the island location for about a week. The remaining schedule will take place across several historical and scenic locations in Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Kirtipur. The film is expected to complete filming within a 70-day schedule.
According to the director, ‘Maharajdhiraj’ is being made as a social period drama. Cinematography is being handled by Nabaraj Thapa.
The film features a massive ensemble cast including Aryan Sigdel, Ramesh Upreti, Pushpa Khadka, Pooja Sharma, Keki Adhikari, Usha Rajak, Gajit Bista, Jaykishan Basnet, Mohan Niraula, Dinesh D.C., and Sushil Sitoula among many others.
Produced under the banner of Chatreshwor Management Pvt. Ltd., the film is presented by Biraj Bista. The screenplay has been written by director Parichhed Sen himself.
The producers of the film are Rabi Khadka, Shivraj Poudel, and Topendra Bista. The makers are targeting a nationwide release during the upcoming Phulpati festival season.
