Kathmandu — The film Unko Sweater emerged as the biggest winner at the 3rd Karnali International Film Festival 2083, held at the Nepal Tourism Board in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, securing the Best Feature Film award along with multiple other honours.
Actor Bipin Karki won Best Actor, while director Nabin Chauhan received the Best Director award for the same film.
From Jerry on Top, actress Jasita Gurung was named Best Actress. Actor Paul Shah received the Social Icon Actor Award.
The Karnali Edition Award (Director) went to Raj Bahadur Sane, while emerging filmmaker and distributor award was presented to Ashish Tamang. The Best Short Film award was won by “Happiness,” produced by Flying Feather Films from Mugu. The Karnali Visionary Award was presented to Santosh Sen.
After receiving the award, Jasita Gurung dedicated her honour to audiences. Paul Shah expressed that the recognition adds responsibility, while Nabin Chauhan said the award was a strong motivation early in his directing career.
A special highlight of the event was a discussion titled “Looking Back at History – First Film Awards Dialogue,” featuring veteran film personalities and historians.
Festival director Chakra Bahadur Chand stated that the festival aims to promote Karnali’s art, culture, and tourism globally through cinema.
The event was attended by several prominent figures from Nepal’s film industry and cultural sector.
