Kathmandu — The Film Journalists’ Association Nepal has honoured seven film journalists on the occasion of its 27th anniversary, celebrating National Film Journalism Day on Jestha 7.
At a ceremony held at Lisara Reception in Kathmandu, the “National Film Journalism Silver Honour 2083” was awarded to Ananta Wagle, along with a cash prize of NPR 55,555.
The “National Film Journalism Honour 2083” was presented to Jayan Subba Manandhar and Kuberraj Giri. The “National Film Journalism Award 2083” went to Baikuntha Raj Parajuli, while the “Late Dinesh Sitoula Memorial Award 2083” was presented to Suraksha Bhattarai.
The “Encouragement Honour 2083” was awarded to Milan Dhungana with a cash prize of NPR 25,000.
The event saw the presence of key figures from Nepal’s film industry, including Film Development Board Chair Dinesh DC, actor Rajesh Hamal, and actress Karishma Manandhar.
Association President Sameer Balami emphasized the need for more disciplined and responsible film journalism, while General Secretary Gopikrishna Chapagain highlighted the recognition of journalists across different generations.
The ceremony also featured cultural performances and participation from numerous film personalities and organizations, making the event a vibrant celebration of Nepali film journalism.
