Movie ‘Hali’, Inspired by Real-Life Events, Set for Release on August 22

Kathmandu — Director Om Pratik’s upcoming Nepali movie ‘Hali’ is officially scheduled to release in cinemas across Nepal on August 22. The release date was announced on Friday alongside two official posters unveiled by the production team.

One of the newly released posters features lead actors Om Pratik, Saroj Khanal, Pramod Deep, and Sujata Thapa in intense and emotionally charged expressions, hinting at conflict and strained relationships among the characters. In the background, two women holding plates near a house entrance symbolize pain, social inequality, and the silent suffering of women.

Produced under the banner of Japura Films Production in collaboration with Shubha Chirayu Films, ‘Hali’ is said to be inspired by true events. According to the makers, the film carries a powerful social message that even a single “Hali” can become a catalyst for transformation in society and the nation.

After the commercial success of his previous movie ‘Mohar,’ director Om Pratik returns with another socially driven story. He has also written the screenplay of the film himself.

The cast includes Pramod Deep, Sujata Thapa, Saroj Khanal, Aruna Karki, Arjun Gurung, Bidya Karki, Nabin Shrestha, Kanchan Dulal, Kamal Gaule, Bishal Pahadi, along with director Om Pratik in a major role.

A major highlight of the film is its promotional song featuring special dance performances by top Nepali stars Deepa Shree Niraula, Kiran KC, Dilip Rayamajhi, Priyanka Karki, and Pooja Sharma. The choreography has been done by renowned choreographer Kabiraj Gahatraj.

The film is financed by Pooja Gurung and Jasmine Shrestha. Cinematography is handled by Rahul Rai, while editing is done by Ram Prasad Chaudhary with Bipin Malla as associate editor. Music composers include Shambhujit Baskota, Babul Giri, and Krishna Bhardwaj.

The action direction is by Kumar Maharjan, and the film will be distributed by National Cine Group Pvt. Ltd. OSR Digital has joined the project as the official digital partner.
