Kathmandu – Six award-winning Chinese films recognized at various editions of the Beijing International Film Festival will be screened in Kathmandu from June 2 to 4 under the “Tiantan Award Panorama” program.

The special film showcase is being organized through a collaboration between the China Film Administration, the Beijing International Film Festival, and the Nepal Film and Cultural Academy. The event is also supported by the Chinese Cultural Center in Kathmandu, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, and Confucius Institutes affiliated with Lumbini Buddhist University.

According to the organizers, all six films will be screened at Chhaya Center in Thamel through ticketed shows.

K.P. Pathak, President of the Nepal Film and Cultural Academy, said the event is aimed at strengthening ties between Nepali and Chinese film industries while creating new opportunities for collaboration.

“Chinese stakeholders have shown increasing interest in the Nepali film market. Such initiatives can help build stronger relationships between filmmakers of the two countries and may eventually pave the way for Nepali films to enter the vast Chinese market,” Pathak said.
