Kathmandu – The upcoming Nepali film “Hali” has intensified its promotional campaign with the release of its third official poster as it gears up for a nationwide theatrical release on August 6 (Shrawan 22).
Backed by entrepreneurs Pooja Gurung and Jasmine Shrestha, the film is a joint production of Japura Films Production and Shubh Chirayu Films. According to the makers, “Hali” is inspired by real-life events and carries a powerful message that even a single hardworking agricultural laborer can become a catalyst for social change.
The newly released poster highlights rural Nepal and the struggles of working-class communities. It features a man carrying a traditional plough on his shoulder alongside a woman carrying a doko and namlo, symbolizing the resilience and hardships of rural life. Traditional stone houses and a hillside village setting further reinforce the film’s authentic rural backdrop.
Written and directed by Om Pratik, the film aims to portray the dignity of labor and the challenges faced by marginalized farming communities.
The cast includes Pramod Deep, Sujata Thapa, Saroj Khanal, Aruna Karki, Arjun Gurung, Bidya Karki, Nabin Shrestha, Kanchan Dulal, Kamal Gaule, Bishal Pahadi and director Om Pratik himself in prominent roles.
One of the film’s major attractions is a promotional song featuring special dance performances by renowned Nepali stars Deepa Shree Niraula, Kiran KC, Dilip Rayamajhi, Priyanka Karki and Pooja Sharma. The song has been choreographed by veteran choreographer Kabiraj Gahatraj, while the film’s other songs are jointly choreographed by Om Pratik and Gahatraj.
The film’s executive producer is Arjun Bhusal, with Namrata Bhandari serving as co-producer. Laxman Bajracharya is the line producer, while Jivannath Gautam is the chief assistant director. Cinematography is handled by Rahul Rai, with editing by Ram Prasad Chaudhary and Bipin Malla.
The soundtrack features music by Shambhujit Baskota, Babul Giri and Krishna Bhardwaj. The film’s main song, written by producer Jasmine Shrestha and composed by Babul Giri, is sung by Babul Giri and celebrated vocalist Shanti Shree Pariyar.
Action direction is by Kumar Maharjan. The film will be distributed nationwide by National Cine Group Pvt. Ltd., while OSR Digital serves as its digital partner.
