Kathmandu — The release date for the much-anticipated Nepali film “Chameliko Poi” has officially been announced. Directed by Everest Surya Bohara, the family comedy is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on October 2 (Asoj 16), coinciding with Nepal’s biggest festival, Dashain.
The film has remained in the spotlight since its production phase, with its first-look poster generating significant buzz among audiences. Blending family values with comedy and entertainment, the film features an ensemble cast including Surakshya Panta, Mukun Bhusal, Narayan Tripathi, Wilson Bikram Rai, Rabindra Jha, Anshu Maharjan, Khadka Bahadur Pun (Khabapu), Umesh Rai, Rajani Gurung, Sunita Sapkota, Ganesh Gautam, Premdev Giri, Dhanalakshmi Bohara, Shreya Narayan, Anushka Narayan, Meena RL Shahi, Ritu Malla Thakuri, Anarratna Bajracharya and Bindu Acharya.
Produced under the banner of Dhanalakshmi Cine Makers, the film is backed by producers Sunita Sapkota and Ramnarayan Upadhyaya, while Uday Bikram Rana, Ritu Malla Thakuri and Kapil Acharya serve as executive producers. The story is written by director Bohara himself, with Shivam Adhikari contributing to the screenplay.
One of the film’s major highlights is the return of veteran comedian Narayan Tripathi to the silver screen after nearly two decades. He is set to play a significant role in the film.
Shot across Mustang, Pokhara and Kathmandu, the film features music by Rajanraj Siwakoti and Ashish Aviral. Choreography is handled by Kabiraj Gahatraj, while Kumar Maharjan serves as the action director. Sudip Kunwar is the chief assistant director, with Yogendra Karki and Marlabh Dhungana assisting the direction team.
The film will be distributed nationwide by RR Films, with OSR Digital joining as its official digital partner.
