Kathmandu: The filming of the upcoming Nepali film “Akshara”, directed by debut filmmaker Binay Raj Poudel, has officially wrapped up after completing its entire shooting schedule in just 37 days.
According to the production team, the project was completed on time thanks to the dedication and hard work of both the cast and crew. Director Poudel credited the film’s smooth production process to the strong collaboration and commitment of everyone involved.
Before concluding production, the team filmed the Teej-themed song “Nachau Na Bari Lai”, which was specially prepared for the festive season. The song features lyrics by Surendra Rana, music by Karna Raj Giri and vocals by popular singer Samikshya Adhikari.
Produced under the banner of Kshit Babu Production House, the film stars Sushil Sitaula, Nancy Khadka, Sushil Pokharel, Pushkar Raut, Rista Adhikari, Anshu Maharjan, Gita Adhikari, Birendra Kushwaha, Srijana Adhikari, Mohan Adhikari and Srishti Khadka in prominent roles. Child actors Ronak Khadka and Prisa Dhungana are also part of the cast.
The film is produced by Ugrasen Dhungana and Sugrasen Dhungana, while Suraj Thapakaji and Suman Jyoti Neupane serve as executive producers. The story has been written by Ugrasen Dhungana, with the screenplay and dialogues jointly developed by Abhimanyu Nirabi and director Binay Raj Poudel.
The technical team includes cinematographer Dipen Basnyat, choreographer Ramji Lamichhane, action director Shankar Maharjan, makeup artist Madan Neupane, costume designer Prarthana Bhattarai and production manager Suman Kafle. Dibas Bikram Bohora serves as chief assistant director, while Manoj Bohora and Saurabh Shah are assistant directors.
After years of working as an assistant director on numerous Nepali films, Binay Raj Poudel is making his independent directorial debut with “Akshara.”
The film, whose poster was designed by Rakesh Dahal, is scheduled for nationwide release on Bhadra 26. Distribution will be handled by Deepak Dangal on behalf of National Cine Group Nepal.
