KATHMANDU — Director Chandra Pant and actor Paul Shah are set to collaborate for the third time following a new agreement signed after the completion of the first phase of shooting for ‘Aa Baata Aama 2’.
Immediately after wrapping the initial schedule of the film, Pant officially signed Shah for an upcoming untitled project. The filmmaker stated that details regarding the title, cast, and technical team will be announced gradually.
“We have currently signed only Paul Shah for the third film. Other details will be revealed in due course,” Pant said.
The duo’s previous collaboration, ‘Aa Baata Aama’, was a commercial success, reportedly earning over NPR 130 million at the domestic box office.
Their second collaboration, ‘Aa Baata Aama 2’, is scheduled for release on the 30th of Ashoj, coinciding with the Dashain festival season. The production team has expressed strong optimism ahead of its release.
International distribution rights have already been sold. The Japan rights have been acquired by R&B Entertainment, while rights for the United States and Canada were purchased by DOKO Films.
According to the producers, early international sales reflect strong overseas interest in the film.
Produced under Arya Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., the film features Paul Shah, Malika Mahat, Aakash Shrestha, Rista Gurung, Nikita Acharya, Sabin Shrestha, Bipana Thapa, Pradeep Rawat, Saigrace Pokharel, Gajit Bista, and others in key roles.
The screenplay and writing are handled by director Pant himself, while Karan Singh Rasali serves as production manager.
With the tagline “The story of a mother’s wait and the Dashain jamara,” the film is described as a family-oriented emotional drama.
In Nepal, distribution rights are held by RR Films, while digital rights have been acquired by OSR Digital.
