Kathmandu – Actress Pujana Pradhan has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Nepali film Maharajadhiraj. She was signed midway through the film’s production schedule.
The production team announced her casting on Monday while filming entered its 33rd day. Presenter Biraj Bista said the team had been looking for a strong performer, making Poojana the perfect choice.
“We were searching for a highly capable actress, and that is why we brought Poojana on board. Her addition has made our team even stronger,” Bista said.
The film is currently being shot at various locations in Kathmandu. Filming began at Shrilanka Tappu in Sunsari, later moved to Bhaktapur, and is now continuing in the capital. The production is scheduled for a total of 70 shooting days.
Directed by Parichhed Sen, Maharajadhiraj is being filmed by cinematographer Navaraj Thapa. According to Sen, the film is a social period drama.
The cast includes Aryan Sigdel, Ramesh Upreti, Pushpa Khadka, Pooja Sharma, Keki Adhikari, Usha Rajak, Gajit Bista, Jaykishan Basnet, Mohan Niraula, Dinesh D.C., and Sushil Sitoula.
Other cast members include Hiuwala Gautam, Priya Rijal, Neer Shah, Bishal Pahadi, Asha Poudel, Pushkar Karki, Monika Budhathoki, Kabita Puri, Srishti Khadka, Kuldeep Adhikari, and Kamal Devkota.
Featuring a cast of around 80 actors, the film also stars Kamal Gaule, Shishir Bhandari, Shibu Pandey, Hemant Budhathoki, Pralinsha Koirala, Anju Rasaili, Sanam Shrestha, Sujen Thapa, Ayushma Giri, Ramhari Khadka, Suwarna Dulal, Anita Giri, Paras Bastakoti, Kul Bahadur Oli, Sapana Ghising, and Pooja Budha.
Produced under the banner of Chhatreshwar Management Pvt. Ltd., the film is written by director Parichhed Sen. It is produced by Rabi Khadka and Topendra Bista.
