Kathmandu: Actress Salina Tamang has been signed as the lead actress opposite actor Mukun Bhusal in the upcoming Nepali film Kangal Karodpati. Directed by Raju Shrestha, the film will mark Salina’s debut in the Nepali film industry.
According to the production team, Salina officially signed the project earlier this month. Kangal Karodpati will also mark the first on-screen pairing of Mukun Bhusal and Salina Tamang.
Expressing her excitement after joining the film, Salina said Kangal Karodpati is the perfect project for her debut.
“I am extremely happy to have the opportunity to portray a character in this film. I hope everyone will shower their love and support on both my performance and the film,” she said after signing the project.
Salina received professional acting training at The Actor’s Truth in Mumbai under renowned Bollywood acting coach and actor Saurabh Sachdeva. Sachdeva is known for his performances in several acclaimed films, including Ranbir Kapoor’s blockbuster Animal.
Kangal Karodpati is being produced under the banner of Cinema Pathshala Pvt. Ltd. Pravin Acharya serves as the presenter, while Anil Kumar Budhathoki is the producer. The co-producers are Chhiring Tamang, Prabin Rai, and Prabesh Sapkota. Rita Shrestha Tamang and Suraj Kumar are the line producers.
The film’s story has been written by Suman Gajmer. According to the production team, the casting of most of the principal roles has already been completed, while auditions for a few new characters will be announced soon.
