Kathmandu: The makers of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Akshara’ have released its second official poster to mark the birthday of producer Sugrasen Dhungana, while stepping up the film’s promotional campaign ahead of its theatrical release on September 11 (Bhadra 26).
The newly unveiled artwork prominently features lead actors Sushil Sitoula and Nancy Khadka, whose intense expressions hint at an emotionally charged social and family drama.
The poster depicts the two protagonists facing in opposite directions, suggesting emotional distance, conflict, misunderstanding, or separation within their relationship. A blurred crowd in the background further hints at the influence of society on their personal lives, adding intrigue to the film’s narrative.
Produced under the banner of Kshit Babu Production House, Akshara also stars Sushil Pokharel, Pushkar Raut, Rista Adhikari, Anshu Maharjan, Gita Adhikari, Birendra Kushwaha, Srijana Adhikari, Mohan Adhikari, and Srishti Khadka. Child actors Ronak Khadka and Preesa Dhungana are also part of the cast.
According to the production team, the actors dedicated significant effort to their performances, while the film’s principal photography was completed over nearly six weeks.
Presented by Sony Thapa (Dhungana), the film is directed by Binaya Raj Poudel and produced by Ugrasen Dhungana and Sugrasen Dhungana. Suraj Thapakaji and Suman Jyoti Neupane serve as executive producers.
The story is written by Ugrasen Dhungana, while the screenplay and dialogues are jointly penned by Abhimanyu Nirabi and director Binaya Raj Poudel. Cinematography is by Dipen Basnyat, choreography by Ramji Lamichhane, and action direction by Shankar Maharjan. The film will be distributed nationwide by Deepak Dangal on behalf of National Cine Group Nepal.
Akshara is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release on September 11 (Bhadra 26).
