Kathmandu: The upcoming Nepali film ‘Aa Bata Aama 2’, starring Paul Shah and Bipana Thapa, is set for a worldwide theatrical release on October 16 (Ashoj 30), coinciding with the Phulpati festival of Dashain. Ahead of its release, the film has secured another international milestone by selling its Croatia distribution rights.

Produced under the banner of Aarya Entertainment, the film’s Croatia theatrical rights have been acquired by NEP Entertainment and Buddha Mart, based in Zagreb. Producer-director Chandra Pant has already signed a formal agreement with the Croatian distributors.

According to the production team, the growing Nepali community in Croatia has created demand for Nepali films in the country. The makers also revealed that the film’s distribution rights have already been sold in the United States, Canada, and Japan.

Written and directed by Chandra Pant, Aa Bata Aama 2 revolves around the emotional story of a mother waiting for her children who have left home for foreign employment.

The film’s promotional poster carries the poignant line: “Holding on to the hope that they will return, a mother sows Jamara every Dashain.” The message reflects the emotional bond between migrant children and the mothers who continue to wait for them year after year.

The ensemble cast includes Paul Shah, Bipana Thapa, Aakash Shrestha, Pradeep Rawat (best known as the villain in Ghajini), Malika Mahat, Rishta Gurung, Nikita Acharya, Sabin Shrestha, Saigres Pokharel, Gajit Bista, Dilip Akheda, and Naren Khadka.

The film will be distributed across Nepal by RR Films, while OSR Digital has acquired its digital rights. Karan Singh Rasali serves as the production manager.
