Kathmandu: Dubbing work for the upcoming Nepali film ‘Akshara,’ which is scheduled for nationwide release on September 11 (Bhadra 26), is progressing at full speed as the production team enters the final phase of post-production.
Actress Nancy Khadka completed dubbing for her role on Friday. Watching her performance on screen during the dubbing session left her excited, and she said she was delighted to feel that she had done justice to her character.
After winning audiences with her debut in the blockbuster ‘12 Gaun,’ Akshara marks Nancy’s first film as the sole lead actress. She has also appeared alongside actor Anmol KC in ‘Batulo Jun,’ which is awaiting release. With the responsibility of carrying the film as the lead, Nancy said she dedicated significant effort to preparing for the role.
Before entering the film industry, Nancy earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Psychology from California, USA, between 2016 and 2020. During her time in the United States, she was actively involved in modeling and was featured in the internationally recognized Movair Paris Magazine. She is also the winner of Miss Nepal International 2022 and represented Nepal at the international pageant held in Japan.
Nancy stars opposite Sushil Sitoula in Akshara. The cast also includes Sushil Pokharel, Pushkar Raut, Rista Adhikari, Anshu Maharjan, Gita Adhikari, Birendra Kushwaha, Srijana Adhikari, Mohan Adhikari, and Srishti Khadka. Child actors Ronak Khadka and Prisa Dhungana also play key roles.
Produced under the banner of Kshit Babu Production House, the film is presented by Sony Thapa (Dhungana). It is written and directed by Binay Raj Poudel, while Ugrasen Dhungana and Sugrasen Dhungana serve as producers. Suraj Thapakaji and Suman Jyoti Neupane are the executive producers.
The original story was written by Ugrasen Dhungana, with the screenplay and dialogues jointly penned by Abhimanyu Nirabi and director Poudel. Featuring cinematography by Dipen Basnyat, choreography by Ramji Lamichhane, and action direction by Shankar Maharjan, Akshara will be distributed nationwide by National Cine Group Nepal through Deepak Dangal.
