Kathmandu: The first song, “Dilma Thau Chha,” from the upcoming Nepali film Behuli has made a remarkable digital debut, generating massive engagement across TikTok and YouTube within just 48 hours of its release.
According to the film’s production team, more than 50,000 TikTok videos have been created using the song within two days, making it one of the fastest-growing promotional tracks for a Nepali film in recent years. Released through OSR Digital’s YouTube channel, the music video has also surpassed 600,000 views, with its audience continuing to grow rapidly.
Blending contemporary and folk musical elements, the song has gained popularity among listeners of all age groups. From everyday users to well-known celebrities and content creators, thousands have joined the trend by recreating the song’s hook step on TikTok, significantly boosting anticipation for the film ahead of its theatrical release.
The song features lyrics and music by the film’s presenter Arjun Pokharel, with vocals by Anju Panta, Prashant Siwakoti, and Rabi Od. The music video stars Paras Bam Thakuri (Cool Boy), Divya Rayamajhi, Sushant Karki, and Padam Tamang, with choreography by Sion Shrestha.
Paras and Divya appear in traditional bride-and-groom attire, hinting that the story revolves around marriage and relationships. The appearances of Sushant Karki and Padam Tamang add further appeal to the promotional video.
Directed by Sashan Kandel and written by Madhav Sharma, Behuli features performances by Paras Bam Thakuri, Divya Rayamajhi, Sushant Karki, Padam Tamang, Santosh Baniya, Sarita Giri, Bishal Pahari, Karma Lama, Dipak Gauli, Bimal Yadav, Abiral Shrestha, Sabin Kattel, and Samaira Thapa Magar, among others.
Presented jointly by The Divine Music and Samman Entertainment, the film is presented by Arjun Pokharel and produced by Pratap Shamsher Rana. Executive producers are Shankar Koirala and Ramesh Silwal, while Durga Kharel and Shishir Shrestha serve as co-producers. Kosis Raj Kshetri and Samrat Kshetri are the line producers.
The technical team includes cinematographer Narendra Mainali, editor Bikash Dahal, and action choreographer Roshan Shrestha. Sudip Kunwar is the chief assistant director, with Yogendra Karki and Marlov Dhungana serving as assistant directors. Yam Prasad Oli heads production, while Kishor Nepal, Raju Waiba, and Alex Basukala are responsible for production design, makeup, and costume design, respectively.
The film will be distributed by Kafiya Films inside the Kathmandu Valley and Shree Venkatesh Entertainment across the rest of Nepal. OSR Digital has acquired the film’s digital distribution rights.
