Nepali film ‘Gauthali’ Set for July 17 release

Kathmandu. The Nepali film Gauthali, a well-known emotional title in Nepali cinema history, is set to return in a new form. The original film, based on a story by senior physician Dr. Bhola Rijal, was released nearly two decades ago and ran successfully for over 51 days.

The new version of Gauthali will be released nationwide on Shrawan 1 (July 17), the production team announced.

The film is directed by Dr. Kapil Rijal, who previously directed Harry Ki Pyari starring Jitu Nepal and Samragyee RL Shah.

The film stars Arun Kshetri and Simran Khadka in lead roles.

It also features veteran actor Madan Krishna Shrestha, along with Prakash Ghimire, Lunibha Tuladhar, Rabindra Jha, Ishwari Baral, and others. Child actors Anshu Oli and Prince Nepali also appear.

The story is based on Dr. Bhola Rijal’s original concept. The screenplay and dialogues are co-written by Dr. Kapil Rijal, Nishchal Kunwar, Niraj Nepal, and Giriraj Ghimire.

The symbolic meaning of Gauthali is said to represent home, family, and emotional closeness.

Produced under Bhola Rijal Production and Suman Giri Production, the film’s executive producer is Sarla Rijal.

Music is composed by Shambhujeet Banskota, Thaneshwor Gautam, and Prashant Siva Koti, while background score is by Alish Karki.

Cinematography is by Hari Humagain and editing by Milan Shrestha.

The film is distributed by Rich Entertainment, Apple Entertainment, and F.D. Company, while digital rights are with OSR Digital.
