Film Literacy Program Held at Shree Secondary School Sahapur, Chitwan

A film literacy program was successfully conducted at Shree Secondary School Sahapur, located in Kalika Municipality–2, Chitwan. The program was organized by Choya Digital Solution and managed by Celebrity Nepal, in coordination with the Film Development Board and Kalika Municipality, Chitwan, on December 28, 2025.

Around 150 students actively participated in the program, which aimed to enhance awareness about films, foster critical thinking, and encourage creative expression among students, according to the organizers.

The event was attended by Ward Chair and Municipal Spokesperson Laxman Paudel, Choya Digital Solution Chair Rajkumar Silwal, Film Journalists Association General Secretary Raghunath Sapkota, school principal Prem Adhikari, School Management Committee Chair Sombahadur Gurung, ward member Chitra Bahadur Bhandari, film director Amardeep Sapkota, and journalists Prabin Kiranti and Prem Paudel, among others. Teachers also participated in significant numbers.

Addressing the program, Ward Chair Paudel highlighted the growing importance of film education in the digital age, stating that such initiatives positively contribute to developing students’ creativity, social awareness, and communication skills.

Choya Digital Solution Chair Rajkumar Silwal emphasized the need to introduce film literacy from the school level and shared plans to expand similar programs to more schools in the future.

Film Journalists Association General Secretary Raghunath Sapkota urged students to view films not merely as entertainment but as powerful tools for education, awareness, and social transformation.

School principal Prem Adhikari expressed his appreciation for hosting such an informative and practical program, thanking the organizers and partner institutions. School Management Committee Chair Sombahadur Gurung also voiced confidence that the program would broaden students’ perspectives.

Following the event, participating students shared positive feedback, noting that the program helped them develop skills to understand, analyze, and creatively utilize films.
