Based on the life story of Nepal’s national women’s football team captain and goalkeeper, Anjila Tumbapo Subba, the film delivers an inspiring message, prompting schools to arrange screenings for their students.

On Monday, 360 students from Daffodil Boarding School and Daffodil Public School watched the film at QFX, located in Rising Mall, Durbar Marg. Similarly, since the second day of its release, various schools across different cities in Nepal have also been showing the film to their students, according to director Milan Chams.

Schools have been sending students from grades 3 to 12 to watch Anjila. Arvind Kumar Mandal from Daffodil School stated that the screening aimed to motivate students. “Watching this film, our students learned the importance of ‘never giving up.’ Even I found it both entertaining and insightful in understanding Captain Subba’s life,” he said.

According to school representatives, Anjila teaches the values of perseverance, dedication, and success, making it relevant for academic purposes as well. Director Chams emphasized that the film’s core message is that “success achieved through struggle is long-lasting” and encouraged more schools to join this initiative.

Producer and actor Prem Kumar Shrestha mentioned that Anjila serves as a source of inspiration for moving forward in life. He also announced that all profits from the film would be used to build a house for Captain Subba.

Anjila is based on the real-life story of Nepal’s national women’s football team captain, Anjila Tumbapo Subba, who plays herself in the lead role.
