The production of Ratyouli, a film inspired by Nepal’s rich tradition, culture, and indigenous identity, has been officially announced. Named after the traditional folk song “Ratyouli”, sung exclusively by women as part of wedding ceremonies, the film aims to reflect deep cultural consciousness and heritage.
Presented by Ranjan Rijal, Ratyouli marks his debut as a film producer. Active in the Nepali music video industry since 2062/63 B.S., Rijal has featured in hundreds of videos, establishing a strong presence as a model.
The film will be directed by Muskan Dhakal, known for successful films like Nai Nabhannu La 3 and Summer Love. Regarded as a promising young director, Dhakal now turns his focus toward a culturally and family-oriented narrative.
The project is being produced under the banner of Night Angle Entertainment, with investments from Noyendra Dhital, Bijay Kumar Pathak, and Muskan Dhakal. Filming is set to begin shortly after the upcoming Tihar festival. The film’s title was officially unveiled on Friday, Shrawan 16 (August 1, 2025). The team has begun casting and technical preparations.
Speaking about the project, presenter Ranjan Rijal stated, “Nepali audiences increasingly appreciate films that reflect our own language, setting, and authentic narratives. That’s why we’re developing this film to match those expectations.”
Director Muskan Dhakal added that location scouting and finalization of the cast are currently underway. He emphasized that Ratyouli aims to present Nepali culture and entertainment in a balanced and appealing way.
