Buffins 98 group has released the poignant song ‘Barabari Aansu’. Beginning with the words of poet Biplav Pratik:

“This is the story of a young boy,
A boy determined to achieve something,
The country made all arrangements and sent him abroad.”

The music video vividly portrays the struggles and tragic consequences faced by Nepali youth who go abroad in search of employment. Poverty, illiteracy, and unemployment force these young people to leave their homes, chase small dreams, support their families, and seek a brighter future. Their journey is not just a search for opportunity—it often becomes a story of tears, sweat, and sometimes even blood.

Corruption within the country makes it impossible for them to stay on their own land. As a result, they leave behind their loving homes, parents, and family, stepping into an uncertain future. Every year, thousands of Nepali youth lose their lives while working abroad, and their bodies return home in red boxes.

The song centers on the story of that red box, portraying the immense pain of a mother who receives her son’s lifeless body after he went abroad to earn money. The mother’s grief, as she weeps over her son’s body, touches the hearts of all viewers.

Known for patriotic songs for over two and a half decades, Buffins 98 produced this song. The vocals are by Sanjiv Gurung. Life Bhattarai ‘Bhai’ wrote the lyrics, directed, and edited the video. Cinematography was done by Bikram Shrestha, with performances by Tara Sharma and Ramesh Gautam.
