Kathmandu:
The Japanese distribution rights of the Nepali film ‘Aa Bata Aama’, directed by Chandra Pant, have been officially sold. The rights have been acquired by Om Shanti Om Entertainment, a company involved in film distribution in Japan, according to the production team.
A formal agreement has been signed between the producers and Ishwor Shrestha, head of Om Shanti Om Entertainment in Japan. Director Chandra Pant stated that the film’s theatrical rights had already been sold in Australia, New Zealand, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Israel, with demand now rising in other international markets as well.
Produced under the banner of Arya Entertainment, the film has gained significant overseas attention following the release of its songs and teaser.
Written and scripted by Pant himself, Aa Bata Aama features Bipana Thapa, Paul Shah, Pradeep Rawat, Usha Upreti, Simran Pant, Saigress Pokharel, Gajit Bista, and Begam Nepali in key roles. The film’s domestic distribution will be handled by RR Films.
The dialogues, penned by Abhimanyu Niravi, were developed in collaboration with Amar Neupane, Abhimanyu Niravi, and Chandra Pant. Cinematography is by Navaraj Upreti, while the music is composed by Koshish Chhetri, Babul Giri, and Thaneshwar Gautam. Choreography has been done by Gambhir Bista and Dilip Okheda.
The film is backed by investors Krishna Prasad Subedi, Omkar Pant, Prakash Jung Kunwar, Dhruva Prasad Neupane, and Kshitij Dhungana, with Karan Singh Rasali serving as executive producer. The trailer and teaser were edited by Sahil Khan.
Aa Bata Aama is scheduled for theatrical release on January 29 (Magh 16).
