Kathmandu – Popular Indian rapper Badshah is facing major controversy over his latest song “Tateeree.” Shortly after its release, the Haryana State Women’s Commission issued an official summons to the rapper.
(In legal terms, a summons is a formal notice from a court or government authority ordering a person to appear or respond.)
The dispute stems from claims that the lyrics and visuals in the video were disrespectful to women and minors, portraying them in an “inappropriate” manner. The video, featuring young women in school uniforms, drew particular attention.
An FIR has been filed, and the song has been removed from major platforms like YouTube pending further action.
Badshah publicly apologized on social media, saying:
“It was never my intention to hurt anyone’s feelings. I am from Haryana and I sincerely apologize.”
The song has grabbed headlines and become one of India’s most trending topics due to the controversy.
