The Film Development Board of Nepal has launched a three-day Voice Acting and Dubbing training program to enhance the sound and acting capabilities of Nepali cinema. The program began on Sunday under the guidance of Indian sound artist and voice expert Amit Deondi.
The training brings together 166 participants, including actors, technicians, and sound enthusiasts from the Nepali film industry. The opening session featured video clips showing Nepali films dubbed in Hindi and foreign films dubbed in Nepali, highlighting the impact of voice and sound on storytelling.
Chairperson Dinesh DC stated, “Our stories are strong. Now it’s time to make them more impactful through voice and acting. Proper voice acting and dubbing can expand Nepali films to new audiences and markets.”
Participants will receive both theoretical and practical training in voice acting, dubbing techniques, character-specific voice application, dialogue delivery, studio dubbing processes, and sound editing.
Trainer Amit Deondi, who has worked on international projects including Hollywood blockbusters ‘Avatar’ and ‘Mission: Impossible’, will provide hands-on guidance.
The participation of an international expert and a large number of Nepali film professionals is expected to elevate the quality of voice acting and dubbing in Nepali cinema to international standards.
