First Look of ‘Roll No. 1’ Unveiled: A Moving Story of Rural Struggle and Education

Kathmandu. Seven Seas Cinema has released the first look of its upcoming film Roll No. 1, scheduled to hit theaters on May 15 (Republic Day). Two posters were unveiled, building strong anticipation among audiences.

The posters introduce the characters while reflecting the realities of Nepali rural life and social struggles. The earthy tones symbolize grassroots life and authenticity.

One poster features child actor Nirvik Regmi alongside Mukun Bhusal and Renu Yogi in a rural setting, portraying parents striving to educate their child despite hardships. The child’s subtle smile and the background of a hill-side school hint at a story centered on education and rural challenges.

Another poster presents an emotional moment where the child rests on his father’s back, symbolizing parental sacrifice, responsibility, and the child’s trust. It also highlights the struggles of accessing education and study materials in rural areas.

With the tagline “Every Student’s Story,” the film focuses on student life, educational struggles, and dreams.

Directed by John Yonjan, the film stars Mukun Bhusal, Sushank Mainali, Renu Yogi, and Srijana Adhikari. The child cast includes Nirvik Regmi, Rinchen Lama, Sanyam Katuwal, and Sijal Shrestha.

Produced by Binod Paudel and Janvi Paudel, with co-producers Chhatramaya Giri and Ramesh Chaulagain, the story is written by Mahesh Dawadi.

Shot across the rural landscapes of Myagdi, the film features cinematography by Shivaram Shrestha, music by Prashant Siwakoti, background score by Rohit Shakya, and editing by Madan Ghimire.

The film is set for both domestic and international release, with distribution handled by Rich Entertainment and JM Cinema.
