A new devotional song dedicated to Lord Shiva, “Jai Jai Shankar”, has been officially released in Kathmandu. The launch ceremony took place at INI Cinemas, New Baneshwor, in the presence of Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa and former Chief Minister of Karnali Province Jeevan Bahadur Shahi.
Produced by Digisense Nepal Pvt. Ltd., the song features music composed by the late Natikaji, with rearrangement and additional musical composition by Mohan Munal, and lyrics contributed by Vijay Adhikari.
The music video was filmed in Lapcha, Limi Valley of Humla District, at an altitude of 5,100 meters. The location, offering direct views of Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar, holds significant religious, cultural, and tourism value. The production team has claimed it to be the first-ever music video shot in such a remote region. The video features a solo performance by actor Badri Prasad Tiwari, directed by Vijay Adhikari, with choreography by Kiran Thapa, cinematography direction by Hari Humagai, editing by Bharat Regmi, and production management by Dipen Gautam (Michael).
Former Tourism Minister Shahi expressed confidence that the video would play a vital role in promoting tourism in Karnali, stating: “This video will awaken us all. We have abundant resources, and with a stronger legal framework, this region alone can sustain the nation.”
General Secretary Thapa praised the project, remarking: “Sugam Pokharel’s powerful voice and Badri’s performance have brought the song to life. The message is clear – Karnali is not only about hardship, but also home to such extraordinary landscapes. The team’s initiative deserves high appreciation, especially in areas where the government has fallen short.”
Director Vijay Adhikari, recalling the Puranic reference to King Ravana of Lanka meditating at Mount Kailash, said: “We too reached Lapcha, witnessed Kailash and Mansarovar firsthand, and brought this song to life in that sacred setting.” The producers expressed hope that the video would spread the message worldwide that Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar can be seen from Nepal, making a historic contribution to tourism promotion.
The music video was screened during the event and has been released on Digisense Nepal’s official YouTube channel.
